Franklin County Fire District 3 launches drone program for emergencies

PHOTOS: Franklin County Fire District 3 announced it added a drone through a Washington State Department of Natural Resources grant awarded at the beginning of the year. The district said the new DJI Matrice 4T drone gives incident command a live aerial view during emergencies along with thermal imaging.

The drone helps crews find hotspots during wildfires and help locate missing or lost people, making operations safer and faster. Franklin County Fire District 3 said the drone would mainly serve its community but could also help neighboring agencies when needed.
