Fire Tech U is hosting the fifth webinar in a series designed to bridge the gap between technology and today’s fire service leaders—fire chiefs, command staff, and emerging leaders. The Fire Tech U webinar series has evolved from foundational topics such as technology integration and selection to exploring artificial intelligence and emerging technologies shaping the future of the fire service.
Webinar #5 will focus on the support available to fire chiefs and their agencies as they navigate data and technology challenges. This session will be hosted by Joanna Zibbell, Fire Tech Manager for the Boise Fire Department and Secretary of the Association of Fire and Emergency Services Analysts (AFESA), alongside Jessica LeBlanc, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue and Chair of AFESA.
Fire departments generate more data than ever before—from CAD and RMS to staffing, training, and inspections—yet many organizations lack the internal capacity to consistently transform that data into actionable insight. This presentation introduces fire chiefs to the modern data analyst profession and highlights how analysts serve as a critical bridge between operations, technology, and informed decision-making.
Participants will gain a clear, practical understanding of what data analysts do, the different analytical roles that exist, the tangible value analysts bring to both operations and leadership, and how to build an environment where analytical talent can thrive and deliver measurable results.
