Drone helps rescue person stranded on Yakima River in Richland

VIDEO: A person stranded on the shoreline of the Yakima River was rescued with help from a drone and multiple agencies, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). The Richland Police Department received a call about someone stranded along the river within city limits. BCSO deployed one of its drones to help locate the person while rescue watercraft responded to the scene. The stranded individual was rescued by the Pasco Fire Department and brought back to shore safely.
